Shotgun of BS you may or may not care about.

Baxter -
We took Baxter to get his EKG and other heart related acronyms done.  Good news.  They said his murmur is very minor and nothing to worry about at this point.  They recommended him getting checked up once a year to keep an eye on it.  AND his diet is working!

Bike -
I was starting to feel the need for improving my ride.  We looked at road bikes and tried a couple out.  I hated it.  I didn't like my weight being shifted into my hands and the whole thing felt fragile.  I talked to the guy at Revolver Bikes for a little while about things I didn't like about my current ride.  I have to give this shop a huge shout out.  They really do care about your needs and not just trying to sell more bikes or gear. It seemed to all come down to my hand placement.  I found myself rarely gripping the grips properly out of discomfort.  I mainly had my hands either fisted on top of the grips, or grabbing closer in holding around the shifter/brakes.  He suggested chopping the handlebar down.  Genius.  We did, and I love it.  I find myself passing and hanging with all the "roadies" these days on the road, so I feel pretty confident this bike will last me a while.  I doubt I will ever make the switch over to a road bike.  I don't see the benefit.  Lighter weight? That just means I get less of a workout.  Here's a pic of the chopped bars:

To further my pursuit of more comfort without compromising any real speed/dorkiness, I ordered these Ergon GX1 Grips.
They seem to make a lot of sense, giving your hand more support for less numb hands.

The rain seems to have returned.  I got a chance to try it out my new booties.  They are amazing.  I now show up to work dry as a bone, no need to change socks.

Upcoming Concerts:

intriguing. I too have thought about lighting a little. I like the price on that second one better. Why don't you buy one, and I can look at it, then decide?

Come on, be a pal.
